As an aside . . . a quick Google search turned up that this quote is by Gretchen Rubin from her book, The Happiness Project. She writes about the quote in this blog post: The Days Are Long, But the Years Are Short. Add this to the list of things that I now cry about since becoming a parent!
Anyway, I've participated in a handful of swaps before over the years, and obviously, the results can be mixed depending on who you're matched with. I now have about a 60% success rate with a swap partner (or partners) NOT flaking out. It's disappointing when people sign up for a swap, but don't follow through. Last year I stumbled on and participated in the Goody Goody Gift Swap. Fortunately, this swap partner, Nadia, was really good (package I received in a later post!).

I should've blogged about the package I sent earlier, because now I don't remember what I included in a couple of them! But a few highlights:
- A pocket letter with various crafty goodies
- A mint-colored Instagram album
- A sampling of textured mini origami paper from Mako, our Japanese exchange student from 2010
