Right or wrong, I've squirreled them away safely in the closet to minimize the chances they get ruined (and sheets and blankets in this house have been ruined before due to things like bloody noses and on one occasion, Silly Putty left on the bed).
While I was still on maternity leave with Parker back in 2015, I took some pictures of him laying on the quilt, and this one turned out particularly cute since it was mid-stretch, therefore, a layout was in order. Aunt Florence also made a couple of hats, one of which Parker is wearing in the picture too.
Also, I saw this post on Facebook recently and it's so true!
